This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information regarding an attempted burglary that occurred on Friday, June 11th, at approximately 10:50 p.m.  The residence (3121 CR 2800E) is in rural Penfield, and is located on the Champaign County/Vermilion County line. 

The suspect entered the garage area through an open overhead door.  The suspect then opened a door leading to the interior residence.  The residence is equipped with an alarm system, which was activated when the door was opened.  When the alarm activated, the suspect left the location. 

The residence is equipped with video surveillance cameras, which captured the suspect approaching and leaving the garage area. 

Based on surveillance video, the male suspect (race undetermined) appears to be of average height and build.  At the time of the incident, he was wearing a t-shirt, shorts and boots, and was smoking a cigarette.

The information you provide is confidential. You do not have to give your name or appear in court. CrimeStoppers will pay a reward if the information you provide leads to an arrest for this crime.
